Enrollment Records Specialist - Part-Time

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

North Florida College is seeking an enthusiastic Part-Time Records Specialist for the Registrar’s office.  This position is responsible for processing student transcript requests, typesetting diplomas, and assisting with preparation of commencement ceremonies. Provides exemplary customer service while assisting students with student records and enrollment needs. Ability to accurately post and retrieve data in Ellucian Banner, and research data in Argos Reports and eFileCabinet. This position will work 25 hours per week.  A flexible schedule is available.  

Partial Duties include:

Must have personal and educational philosophy compatible with the goals, objectives, and mission of North Florida College.

  1. Process student transcript requests, including online requests received through National Student Clearinghouse website and in-person requests. Assist students with completing transcript requests forms.
  2. Assist in preparation of commencement ceremonies to include: order, distribute, collect and return faculty rental regalia, typeset commencement program, order flowers and refreshments, prepare honor cords, diploma covers and all other supplies needed to set up stage and lobby area. Assist in setting up the stage. Responsible for the front lobby before, during, and after the ceremonies to include breaking down after the ceremonies.
  3. Typeset and print student diplomas and route them for the required signatures.
  4. Assist with class registrations by performing data entry for registration of Supplemental, Academic, PSAV, and PSV students.
  5. Maintain office supply inventory for Enrollment Services. Monitor office budgets and prepare requisitions.
  6. Assist in the preparation of required college reports by entering data, reviewing records, and correcting records. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of data being entered into the Ellucian Banner database. Access and print reports through Argos reports program.
  7. Cross-train on Admissions duties and assist as needed. This includes: assist prospective students by providing information about the admission process, post incoming transcripts to Banner, scan and file student records, provide student registration verification letters.
  8. Assist with the administration of the state policy on residency classification of students.
  9. Daily tasks include greeting and assisting office visitors, providing customer service over the telephone, making copies, operating fax machine, sorting and distributing department mail.
  10. Comply with all FERPA guidelines.
  11. Be prepared to travel within the college’s six county service area to assist with registration/admission needs. This includes assisting at the Live Oak Location and any new service centers that may be opened in the future.

CDL Instructor in Perry – Full Time (9-Month)

NFC is seeing enthusiastic candidates for a full-time CDL instructor to teach in Perry, FL.  Through strong, local support from the truck driving and timber industry, North Florida College offers a certified program in the field of commercial truck driving. This program is designed to prepare new drivers for their commercial driver’s license ("CDL") as well continuing education refreshers for existing drivers.  A portion of the training focuses on the specific skills needed within the timber industry.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess an active Florida Class A CDL (commercial driver’s license)
  • Over-the-road experience is required, experience in the logging industry is preferred. 

Starting Date:

Position will start in August 2022

Duties include:   

  • Teach Entry Level Driving Training portion of the Truck Driver Training Program, including Handling and documenting cargo, hours of service, post-crash procedures, trip planning, etc.
  • Teach Pre-Trip, Range (basic maneuvers), Road (each student drives 1000 miles on public roads, 200 must be done at night)
  • Maintain student files.
  • Maintain Truck Driver Training Program equipment.
  • Monitor inventory of training supplies.
  • Evaluate and grade students throughout the program.
  • Maintain relationships with employers in the trucking industry and assist with the recruitment/placement of students.

Instructional Coordinator of Criminal Justice Programs

FULL DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

Act in the absence of the Public Safety Director to assure quality control of the vocational law enforcement, correctional, and continuing education criminal justice training programs with chief duties being the daily scheduling of instructors, courses and facilities and maintenance of records.  This position also holds the responsibility for verifying instructor records to director.

Partial Duties include:

  1. Management of all courses to assure that criminal justice training, both recruit and advanced education course programs, meet the goals and objectives of North Florida Community College and the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC).
  2. Be prepared to teach classes as needed in the absence of scheduled instructors, and/or during course testing.
  3. Act as liaison for Director when needed with agencies, students and administration.
  4. Ensure safety of students and training school instructors. 
  5. Report deficiencies in facilities, equipment and supplies to the Director.
  6. Prepare requisitions for supplies as needed.

CJSTC.

  1. Assist in the development, administration and security of examinations
  2. Report all expenditures to be charged to CJSTC Trust Fund to comply with Florida Statutes, CJSTC Rules and Policies and Procedures.
  3. Prepare all documentation required for NFCC and CJSTC courses, including student certificates for advanced/specialized course.
  4. Report all incidences of violations of academy rules to director to assure compliance with CJSTC rules and Florida Statutes. 
  5. Conduct student orientations and provide a set of applicable rules to recruit students. Make recommendations to the Director on disciplinary matters as prescribed by the Recruit Manual.

FULL DESCRIPTION

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited  College or University preferred, or graduate of the FBI National Academy, or Southern Police Institute, or five (5)  years related experience and/or training in the criminal justice field. Candidate must hold a current Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission General Instructor Certification, and/or meet FAC 11B-20.001 instructor requirements High Liability Certifications preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must hold a Florida law enforcement or corrections certification from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Criminal Justice Standards Training Commission (FDLE/CJSTC), or be able to attain certification within 180 days of employment as a condition of employment.

Should be eligible in all respects to become an active Law Enforcement Reserve Officer.  If a Local Reserve Law Enforcement position is available, participation is required.

Programs time schedules and trouble shoots control problems on HVAC energy management system Boiler and lighting systems.

Performs routine preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, and other equipment.

Diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and control problems in HVAC system, Boilers, refrigeration, and other equipment as needed.

Removes and replaces defective parts on HVAC, refrigeration, Electrical equipment and Boilers. 

Maintains spare parts inventory of commonly used items.

Inspects chiller and boiler controls to insure safety items are in good working order.

Keeps records of work completed on equipment.

Installs and maintains communication lines for A/C and boiler controls.

Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to trouble shoot problems.

May be assigned other duties in maintenance department as needed.

Performs annual inspections on all chillers. Performs monthly and quarterly inspections on Boilers.

Remotely monitors HVAC, Boiler and Lighting systems after normal operating hours.

Maintains, repairs and replaces duct work as needed.

Performs electrical services (ex. Run conduit and wiring, change out switches, electrical outlets, light fixtures, breakers etc.) as needed.

SUMMARY

The Director of Information Technology provides direct technology vision and leadership for improving business processes for a more efficient and valuable use of information and technology. The Director of Information Technology is also responsible for the viability of the network as it relates to network hardware, network software, communications, system usage, and educational activities. Responsibility also includes network software usage, security, access controls, backups, disaster recovery, email functionality, and maintaining and securing Banner Information System and other college information systems.

Responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operational status of network environments campus-wide.

Manages and oversees the delivery of IT services.

Coordinates campus-wide IT and functional departments involved in IT system requirements, initiatives, techniques, and controls.

Develops structured diagrams for the specifications of databases, communication systems, servers, storage area networks, security or any other computer-related hardware.

Requires knowledge of policies and procedures and possesses the ability to determine a course of action based on these guidelines.

Manages the operational and end-user technology and support needs of the college, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Supports faculty in their use of technology as an integral part of their teaching and creative activities.  Works closely with Coordinator of Instructional Technology and the Chief Academic Officer to design and implement new technology.

Makes technology recommendations to Senior Management, including development of technology budgets for operations and grants.

Assists in design, development, and implementation of training necessary to staff, faculty, and students to perform their assigned duties and tasks using information technology.

Designs, develops, and supports both technical and systems-centric detailed documentation.

Maintains and secures Ellucian Banner Information System and other college information systems, including access controls. 

Creates and maintains policies of all sensitive data maintained by the College.  Provides results of annual reviews to Senior Management in an annual report.   

Serves on College committees at the discretion of the President.

Commercial Truck Driving Instructor - Part Time

This is a part-time position without benefits. Instructors will work no more than 25 hours per week. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a Level II background check. 

SUMMARY  

Through strong, local support from the truck driving and timber industry, North Florida College offers a certified program in the field of commercial truck driving. EMS Adjunct Instructor - Part Time

The primary responsibility of the EMS adjunct instructor is to assist the student in the classroom, laboratory, and during clinical experiences as needed. This position is on a part-time as needed basis.

Qualifications:

Required: Adjunct instructors must have completed the Florida Level A coursework as identified in the National Guidelines for Educating EMS Instructors, August, 2002 ed. Must have a current Florida paramedic license with three-years of field provider experience with an ALS service.

Adjunct instructors must possess a minimum of an associate degree from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the US Dept. of Education.

  • Chemistry Instructor: A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the chemistry discipline.

  • Biology Instructor: A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the biology discipline. Evening hours preferred.

  • English Adjunct: English Instructor. A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the English discipline.
