Upcoming Workshops

The NFC Career and Workforce Education Center offers a variety of career-based training options for those looking to explore a new career, update existing skills and successfully enter the workforce. The following FREE non-credit workshops are just some of the ways to explore your interests, gain new knowledge, and explore related NFC training options and career paths.


Introduction to Basic Machining

A hands-on workshop introducing participants to the basics of machining including measuring, reading blueprints, safety, precision, part tolerance, tools and common shop equipment.

  • Date: Feb. 7-10, 2022 (Mon-Thurs)
  • Times: 9 a.m.-12 p.m. -or- 5-8 p.m.
  • Limited Space: 12 person limit per time slot; open to the first 12 participants to register
  • Ages: Must be at least 16-years-old to participate. Anyone under 18 years of age must have parent/guardian permission.
  • Registration Deadline is Feb. 1. Register early, limited space!

Introduction to 3D Design

Learn 3D design basics and create a 3D printed piece. This hands-on workshop introduces participants to Solidworks 3D design software, basic 3D printer dos and don'ts, material selection and more. Participants will get to make a 3D printed item during this workshop!

  • Date: March 14-17, 2022 (Mon-Thurs)
  • Times: 9 a.m.-12 p.m. -or- 5-8 p.m.
  • Limited Space: 12 person limit per time slot; open to the first 12 participants to register
