MADISON, FL – For the tenth consecutive year, North Florida College has been recognized as one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, earning the coveted Great Colleges to Work For® distinction in the 2025 program.

The results, released in The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on a survey of 199 colleges and universities nationwide. Only 76 institutions received recognition this year, placing NFC among an elite group of colleges that have built a culture where employees feel supported, valued and proud of their work.

North Florida College was honored in the following categories for 2025:

  • Mission & Pride
  • Confidence in Senior Leadership
  • Faculty & Staff Well-being
  • Job Satisfaction & Support
  • Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness

“This milestone is more than just an honor, it is a reflection of the people who make North Florida College so special,” said NFC President-Elect Dr. Jennifer Page. “Faculty, staff and leadership at every level believe in our mission and believe in one another. That sense of community, of standing together for our students and for each other, is what makes NFC not only a great college, but a great family.”

Now in its eighteenth year, the Great Colleges to Work For® program recognizes institutions nationwide for best practices and policies that make them stand out as exceptional workplaces. Recognition is based primarily on employee feedback through the ModernThink Higher Education Insight Survey©, supplemented by institutional data on workplace practices and policies. The program is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition efforts in the country, measuring confidence in leadership, professional development opportunities, shared governance, inclusion and belonging, and other hallmarks of a healthy workplace. In addition to this year’s recognition, NFC is celebrating a full decade of consecutive wins, ten years of being named a national model for workplace excellence. This rare achievement underscores the College’s long-standing commitment to creating an environment where employees can thrive personally and professionally.

Richard K. Boyer, Chief Culture Strategist at ModernThink, which administers the program, praised this year’s honorees as “resilient, courageous and committed,” noting that they “understand that student success is deeply tied to the success of faculty and staff, and their commitment to both never wavers.”

For NFC employees, the recognition feels especially meaningful. Whether teaching in classrooms, serving students or supporting the College’s mission behind the scenes, every Sentinel contributes to a culture defined by trust, collaboration and pride.

“Ten years of recognition tells the story of who we are,” said Page. “At NFC, Sentinels stand together—for our students, our community and for each other.”
