Graduation

North Florida College holds two Commencement ceremonies each year in May and December. Commencement ceremonies are held at the Van H. Priest Auditorium on the campus of NFC. Candidates for graduation may apply using the online application. The applications are available by contacting the Graduation Office, your academic advisor, or on this webpage. If a student meets all requirements for graduation and does not apply for graduation, NFC will award the certificate or degree and notify the student. We highly recommend students meet with an academic advisor or the Coordinator of Graduation and Enrollment Services prior to applying for graduation.

The Commencement application for the fall 2026 term closes September 30th.  

Fall 2026 Graduation Applications will continue to be accepted through November 30, 2026 for fall graduates who want to be included in the official graduation program and local publications. 

Spring 2027 Commencement Application Now Open!

Spring Commencement Application

The application is open to potential spring and summer graduates. The deadline to apply for the May Commencement Ceremony is February 28, 2027. Spring cap & gown ordering will open in January.

Students expecting to complete degree or certificate requirements in the Summer semester may participate in Spring or Fall Commencement ceremonies. Potential Summer graduates opting to walk in the Spring ceremony must have no more than 12 hours remaining and be in good academic standing to participate in Commencement.

Dual enrolled high school seniors completing in the summer semester are also permitted to participate, and must submit an application for admission to NFC to be eligible.

Career and Workforce education students completing in the summer semester will need program director or instructor approval to participate in the Spring ceremony.

Candidates for graduation wear NFC graduation regalia in the Commencement ceremonies. Note: Tassels are only included with cap & gowns. Students may purchase a tassel separately as a souvenir through the Graduation office.

Regalia is as follows:

• Bachelor degrees: Black Cap & Gown w/tassel
• Associate degrees: Burgundy Cap & Gown w/tassel
• Career and Workforce Education and Certificates: NFC Grey Polo 
• Public Safety: NFC Blue Polo
  • Note: On duty public safety officers may wear agency uniforms in the ceremony
• Practical Nursing: Burgundy Nursing Scrubs 
• Nursing Assistant: Black Nurse Scrubs
• Active Duty Military personnel may wear Military dress in lieu of commencment regalia
