Social Media Specialist - Part Time

Position Summary

The Social Media Specialist will assist in content creation for the College’s social media platforms to increase brand awareness and engagement. The Specialist will use all forms of visual communications, design theory, and multimedia to promote, market, and further develop the College’s mission, vision, and goals. The Specialist will assist in the supervision and management of the Office of Communication’s Student Workers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  2. Create and curate engaging content for social media platforms, including text, image, and video content.
  3. Manage social media accounts and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely manner.
  4. Monitor social media trends, tools, and applications and apply knowledge to improve social media presence.
  5. Utilize graphic design tools and resources to create visually appealing social media promotions.
  6. Implement strategies to increase followers and engagement rates.
  7. Train Student Workers each semester.
  8. Assist with project management and timekeeping for Student Workers.
  9. Assist the Recruitment Coordinator with recruitment events, presentations, processes, promotions, etc. as needed; travel within our service district may be required.

Coordinator of Tutor Lab

Position Summary

The Coordinator of Tutor Lab will maintain and supervise the Tutor Lab and work directly with the Academic Success Center Coordinator to coordinate and facilitate face-to-face and virtual peer tutoring services including one-on-one and small group tutoring, test reviews, study groups, and workshops at all NFC locations for college preparatory courses and college level courses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Recruit, hire, train, and provide scheduling and timekeeping for peer tutors.
  2. Supervise and evaluate peer tutors throughout each academic term.
  3. Coordinate peer tutoring services in-person and online in all three NFC locations in subjects requested by NFC students.
  4. Facilitate and supervise tutoring services for college entrance test preparation.
  5. Monitor the LR Tracker daily to properly record peer tutor’s visit notes and productivity per academic term.
  6. Monitor student satisfaction feedback in the LR Tracker and 24/7 Online Tutoring surveys.
  7. Provide Tutor Lab attendance report to faculty and advisors as needed.
  8. Assist instructors with 24/7 online tutoring log in issues and usage reports as requested.
  9. Report 24/7 online tutoring student usage as requested or needed.
  10. Organize activities to celebrate National Tutoring Week.
  11. Supervise the use of technology and coordinate maintenance of equipment in the Tutor Lab.
  12. Maintain and update the ASC Webpage throughout each semester as needed and directed by the ASC Coordinator.
  13. Offer academic coaching services and tutoring for selected students as needed.
  14. Schedule and offer test reviews in subjects of proficiency (Science, Math, Statistics) by course/instructor as needed.
  15. Offer Jumpstart workshops covering a variety of topics as scheduled through the ASC Coordinator.
  16. Assist students using the Tutor Lab with NFC login issues, software applications, online learning platforms, and device troubleshooting as needed.
  17. Maintain open communication with academic advisors about students’ academic performance and attendance at the Tutor Lab as needed.
  18. Assist with orientations at the beginning of spring and fall academic terms to promote student awareness of the Academic Success Center services and 24/7 online tutoring services.
  19. Assist in managing referrals for peer tutoring services.
  20. Assist in managing course early alerts.
  21. Work a proportionate share of evening hours at the NFC Library, supervise library work-study students and the circulation desk, create Student ID cards, and monitor the library Chat.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Must also have a demonstrated understanding of working with people and must have at least two years of training or experience in the fields of education and supervision.

Commercial Vehicle Driving Instructor 11-Month

Position Summary

The Faculty Instructor for Commercial Vehicle Driving is responsible for providing high-quality classroom, range, and behind-the-wheel instruction in accordance with the Florida Department of Education Curriculum Frameworks, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements, Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) regulations, and North Florida College policies.

The instructor serves as the lead faculty member for the Commercial Vehicle Driving program and is responsible for student instruction, curriculum implementation, student success, program quality, equipment oversight, industry engagement, and continuous program improvement. The faculty member promotes a culture of safety, professionalism, integrity, and workforce readiness while preparing students for successful employment in the commercial transportation industry.

  1. Management of all courses to ensure that the Commercial Vehicle Driving program meets the goals and objectives of North Florida College.
  2. Deliver classroom, range, and behind-the-wheel instruction in Commercial Vehicle Driving.
  3. Evaluate student performance using written examinations, skills assessments, and driving evaluations.
  4. Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records.
  5. Provide timely academic support, coaching, and feedback to students.
  6. Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  7. Monitor student retention and completion.
  8. Assist with planning, development, and continuous improvement of the Commercial Vehicle Driving program.
  9. Maintain program compliance with state and federal regulations.
  10. Recommend equipment, instructional materials, and technology needs.
  11. Assist with program scheduling and instructional planning.
  12. Ensure all instruction is conducted in accordance with State and Federal regulations and industry safety standards.
  13. Promote safe operation of all commercial vehicles and equipment.
  14. Conduct vehicle inspections prior to training. And report maintenance issues promptly.
  15. Assist in maintaining vehicles and training equipment in safe operating condition.
  16. Ensure compliance with college safety policies.
  17. Develop and maintain positive relationships with industry partners.
  18. Lead/plan program advisory committee meetings.
  19. Assist with student recruitment activities.
  20. Support job placement efforts through employer partnerships.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Class A Commercial Driver License with appropriate endorsements.
  • Minimum five (5) years of recent commercial driving experience is required
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience training or supervising commercial drivers is preferred.
  • Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (or ability to obtain).
  • Clean driving record acceptable under the College's insurance requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FMCSA regulations and Entry-Level Driver Training requirements.
  • Ability to teach both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction.
