NFC Public Safety Academy to Host Top Gun Competition for Area Law Enforcement Officers Oct. 16 at NFC

Top Gun Competition Promotional ImageMADISON, FL - The North Florida College Public Safety Academy is proud to partner with the NFC Foundation and Sniffen & Spellman, P.A. of Tallahassee to host North Florida Law Enforcement's Top Gun Sharp Shooter Competition on Saturday, Oct. 16. The competition, to be held at NFC's indoor firing range in Madison, is a free event open to law enforcement officers and retired officers in the North Florida region - including Columbia, Dixie, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lafayette, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor, Gadsden, Leon, Baker, Alachua, Levy, Gilchrist, Wakulla, Clay, Bradford and Union counties.

"We appreciate our area law enforcement officers and are looking forward to a fun competition," said Rick Davis, NFC Public Safety Programs Director. "It's a free event. If you are an officer or retired officer all you need to do is reserve your spot by Oct. 14 and join us Saturday, Oct. 16 to see which officers prove to be North Florida's top gun."

The event begins at 9 a.m. Oct. 16 and will end at approximately 12 p.m. or to the last shooter. There is no charge to participate and courses of fire will be shot using NFC Public Safety Academy provided .40 and .45 caliber ammunition.

The deadline to reserve a spot in the competition is Thursday, Oct. 14. Officers and retired officers can register online at www.nfc.edu/foundation-giving/top-gun.

The competition is sponsored by Sniffen & Spellman, P.A. of Tallahassee and the NFC Foundation. Scholarships toward NFC supplemental recertification review courses for state certification are also available through the NFC Foundation thanks to the support of Sniffen & Spellman, P.A.
