MADISON, FL (October 21, 2021) - The North Florida College Office of Dual Enrollment is now featuring a Student of the Month to bring attention to the outstanding students in our district that dual enroll in College courses during their high school years.

Taylor County High School student Dimitri Williams is the NFC Office of Dual Enrollment's Student of the Month for October. He is currently working toward an Associate in Arts (AA) degree at NFC.

"After I graduate, I plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or chemical engineering at the University of Florida followed by a PhD in anesthetics at the University of Michigan," said Williams. "NFC is giving me the exposure and credits necessary to adequately prepare myself for my future medical studies."

"NFC’s dual enrollment program appealed to me because of its accessibility to high quality teachers and course materials," said Williams. "NFC offers a great opportunity to experience collegial learning without the burden of high tuition and safety concerns. It's a safe and positive environment that rivals some of the top universities in the state."

Dimitri Williams - NFC Dual Enrollment Student of the Month

Why did you choose to dual enroll at NFC? NFC’s dual enrollment program appealed to me because of its accessibility to high quality teachers and course materials. Additionally, the peaceful environment and relatively close proximity to my home made it the perfect place to further my education.

Which class have you enjoyed the most at NFC? Mrs. McCullers’s English 1 and 2 courses were the most vigorous, insightful, and enjoyable courses I've taken on campus thus far. She opened my eyes to a new realm of academic writing that has allowed me to really analyze and understand academic text and form strong interpretations of them.

How is NFC helping you reach your goals? NFC is giving me the exposure and credits necessary to adequately prepare myself for my future medical studies.

What are your educational plans after high school? After I graduate, I plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or chemical engineering at the University of Florida followed by a PhD in anesthetics at the University of Michigan.

Who at NFC has inspired you? Even though I do not plan to pursue a degree in English or Communications, Mrs. McCullers has allowed me to realize that I am fully capable of achieving any of my academic goals, as long as I put in the right amount of effort and dedication.

Why would you recommend attending NFC? NFC offers a great opportunity to experience collegial learning without the burden of high tuition and safety concerns. It's a safe and positive environment that rivals some of the top universities in the state.
