Tonyell RobersonFlorida College System Foundation Contributes $22,887 to NFC Student Scholarships

The North Florida College Foundation, Inc. is proud to announce that the Florida College System Foundation (FCSF) has contributed $22,887 for North Florida College student scholarships.

Judy Lundell, Director of Resource Development and the North Florida College Foundation, Inc., is enthusiastic about the impact of the funding, “These scholarship funds are incredibly important to our first generation in college and nursing students. They can make all the difference for students who want to attend college and set their lives on a successful path. Our scholarship awardees need every dollar to make college degree and workforce certification program completion obtainable.”

The FCSF funding supports three different scholarship programs designed to assist college students:

Bank of America “Dream Makers Scholarship” – scholarships are awarded to first-generation-in-college (student’s parents did not attend college) students enrolled at NFC.

Florida Blue Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship – scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in NFC Nursing and Allied Health programs.

Helios Education Foundation First Generation Scholarship – scholarships are awarded to first-generation in college (student’s parents did not attend college) students enrolled at NFC. Preference is given to students who are preparing for a career in education and plan to teach in the State of Florida.

Tonyell Roberson, an NFC student enrolled in the Registered Nursing program, is a 2021 recipient of the Florida Blue Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship. Roberson, who has balanced the responsibilities of family, work and school during the COVID-19 pandemic, shared, “A time that was supposed to be exciting as I furthered my career and improved the lives of my three children became very stressful. Without donors such as Florida Blue Nursing Scholarship, I would not have been able to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse and joining this amazing field. I could not be more grateful for the opportunity that this donation has given me. Thank you for allowing me to take steps toward a lifelong career of improving the lives of others.”

Many scholarships are available through the NFC Foundation each term. The NFC Foundation Scholarship Application deadline for Spring Term 2022 classes is November 11, 2021. Visit www.nfc.edu/foundation-giving/scholarships to complete the online application today.
