Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Important Career Step

Paige Rodriguez BSN Class of 2018 FeatureMADISON, FL - Paige Rodriguez earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from North Florida Community College in July 2018, walking across the stage among NFCC’s first baccalaureate-level graduates. The occasion was a historic moment for NFCC and marked a major milestone in Rodriguez’s career.

"Nursing is an area that is constantly changing and seeking ways to improve," said Rodriguez. "I want to be part of the positive changes in the field of nursing."

MOVING FORWARD: Earning my BSN was an important step in furthering my nursing career; it gave me more confidence in my nursing foundation and in the area of leadership specifically.

OPPORTUNITIES: The number one reason I wanted to earn my BSN was to open up employment opportunities and increase my knowledge in the field. I expect my bachelor’s degree to benefit my career by qualifying me for opportunities for advancement.

WHY NFCC: I chose NFCC because I earned two associate degrees from NFCC and I love the staff, campus and nursing educators. NFCC has a straightforward application process and the program offers plenty of support for the student throughout the program.

ONLINE BUT NOT ALONE: NFCC offered many resources to help with the online format, from the Smart Thinking tutor lab to library orientation videos that explained how to utilize the library databases for research.

Rodriguez is employed at the Shands of Live Oak Regional Medical Center Emergency Department.
