Florida Criminal Justice Basic Abilities Test (CJBAT)

Testing is by appointment only.
The Florida Criminal Justice Basic Abilities Test (CJBAT) is a requirement for entry into the basic recruit training programs for law enforcement and corrections.
  • The CJBAT at NFC is given several times each week.
  • Register for the CJBAT online by creating an account Pearson VUE. The cost is $39 and payment is made on the Pearson VUE website. When you register, search for "North Florida College" by searching zip code 32340.
  • You will receive a confirmation email after you register.
  • On the day of your test, arrive at least 15 minutes early and bring two forms of ID to the NFC Testing Center, Building 16. Acceptable forms of ID for the CJBAT include a State Driver's License and Social Security Card.

Exemptions to the Law Enforcement Basic Abilities Test (not applicable to Corrections Basic Abilities Test):

  • U.S. Veterans who served in the active military, naval, or air service and who were discharged or released under honorable conditions. Required documentation: DD214 or other military documentation indicating an honorable discharge.
  • Persons who hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Required: official transcript indicated the degree was conferred.
