Federal Relief Funds Available for Fall Term 2021

Deadline to APPLY extended to Sunday, August 22

NFC Students - Don't Miss This Opportunity: NFC's Fall Term 2021 Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) grant application deadline has been extended to Aug. 22. These emergency financial aid grants may be used to help cover components of your NFC attendance cost or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, healthcare (including mental health care) or childcare. 

Who's Eligible?

Degree and Certificate Seeking Students: Students enrolled in Fall Term 2021 courses for credit who are seeking a degree, certificate, or other recognized postsecondary credential. Note: High school students enrolled in postsecondary courses for credit are not considered degree/certificate seeking.

  • All part-time degree and certificate seeking students enrolled in less than 12 credit hours
  • All full-time degree and certificate seeking students enrolled in 12 credit hours or more

How Can Funds be Used?

  • HEERF grants may be used by students for any component of their cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care) or child care. 
  • NFC students may also choose to apply such grants to their student accounts to pay for Fall Term 2021 tuition and fees.

What Will Funds Cover if Applied to Student Accounts?

  • Up to $1,200+ for 12 credit hours during Fall Term 2021
    • Includes degree and certificate programs and courses
  • Tuition and approved program fees for rapid credential programs such as EMT, Advanced Manufacturing and Production Technology, CDL, etc.; amounts vary.
  • Grant amounts may not cover lab fees.

How Will Funds be Distributed?

  • NFC will prioritize students with exceptional need, such as students who receive Pell Grants or otherwise demonstrate exceptional need. 
  • Grants will be made based on availability of funds.
